1. What is the Brazilian Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery?

The BAPS – Brazilian Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery is a community dedicated to the scientific, ethical and professional advancement of aesthetic plastic surgery. It promotes transparent and responsible medical advertising, with initiatives that strengthen the specialty in Brazil and worldwide.

2. Who can join BAPS?

Membership is open to physicians who hold a Specialist Qualification Registration (RQE) in Plastic Surgery and are duly registered with the Regional Council of Medicine (CRM) in their jurisdiction.

3. Can I join from anywhere in Brazil and the United States?

Yes. Our members are based not only in Brazil and the United States, but also in several countries around the world. They can access our content wherever and whenever they want, as often as they like.

4. Is there an application review process?

Yes. All membership applications undergo a document review to confirm that admission requirements are met. Once the form is completed, the application is forwarded to the BAPS Board for evaluation. The approval response time is up to 24 business hours.

5. What practical benefits do members receive?

Members have access to a range of benefits, including:

  • Continuing scientific education through webinars, lectures and exclusive content;
  • Special rates for BAPS congresses and events;
  • Access to BAPSFLIX, the association’s educational platform with recorded lectures and events;

6. Do I need to pay monthly?

No. BAPS charges an annual membership fee of BRL 2,900.00, payable in full via PIX or in up to 6 installments.

7. Does BAPS certify surgeons?

No. A physician’s membership in BAPS does not constitute professional certification, a specialist title or authorization to practice plastic surgery. Professional qualifications and medical registrations should be verified with the relevant regulatory bodies and responsible organizations.

8. How can I check whether a professional is a BAPS member?

BAPS provides a member search tool on its website. Simply visit baps.global/en/baps-members/ and enter the professional’s name to check their active membership.

9. Do I need to be a BAPS member to attend events?

No. Some of our events are open to non-members. Check the page for the event you are interested in to see the available admission options.
